Boarding FAQs

What is needed to board a dog at GVV?

We require all dogs to be up-to-date on the Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella, and Intestinal parasite exam.  This can also be done here with us during their stay.

 

What is needed to board a cat at GVV?

We require all cats to be up-to-date on Rabies and FVR-CP (feline distemper) vaccines.  This can also be done here with us during their stay.  We provide litter and litter boxes.

 

Do you have to bring your own food for your pet?

You can bring your own food.  However, we offer in-house Hill's Healthy Advantage dry kibble for both dogs and cats. 

 

How much does it cost to board your pet?

What extras are offered during the boarding stay?

Can you bring blankets/toys/food bowls from home?

Toys and slow feeders are welcome but we have plenty of blankets and beds.  We provide food/water bowls, blankets, cots, and some toys for pets during their stay.

 

If you have more than one dog, can they board together?

Yes, as long as they get along with each other.  If they fight over food or fight with another dog, then they will be separated.

 

What days can you drop off or pick up your pet?

You can drop off or pick up your pet Monday through Saturday during our regular hours.  We do not offer drop-off or pick-up on Sundays.

Anesthesia

Anesthesia is always a risk, but at Galloway Village Veterinary all precautions are taken to make it as safe as possible for each pet. Anesthetic monitoring is done by a dedicated technician, under veterinarian supervision, and all pets are closely monitored while waking up, until alert and their body temperature is normal.


Bathing

Galloway Village Veterinary's special cleansing baths remove dirt, debris, and that doggie pet odor - your pet will feel fresh and revitalized.


Behavioral Medicine

Pets can have a wide variety of behavioral issues, from simple housetraining problems to severe anxiety and aggression issues.
